Last year I discovered coconut oil after reading a recommendation in a book that I was reading. Ever since I first cooked with coconut oil, there wasn’t going back. I had cooked with vegetable oil for years because it was what I always seen my mom and grandma use. To be honest, I didn’t ever think about the difference between all of the oils. I just knew that vegetable oil sounded healthy and it always seemed like the cheapest to buy when grocery shopping. I do admit that I do currently have vegetable oil in my pantry, but I prefer using coconut oil for most of the meals that I cook that call for oil.
I recently have been using the Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil from Tropical Traditions. I made the switch to coconut oil not only because it tastes better, but it has some health benefits too! The Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is organic has a great taste and smell. This virgin coconut oil also contains medium chained fatty acids. These fatty acids are known to be potent and have been known for their ability to kill of harmful parasites, bacteria and even viruses which in return help’s support the body’s immune system.
My favorite use for the Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut oil is in desserts. I definitely use this oil when making cakes, brownies or other yummy treats. I have also used coconut oil to cook potatoes. Now that I use the oil, I can taste the difference. It is a taste that I now prefer over the taste of say vegetable oil or olive oil. If you have never used coconut oil, I would suggest giving it a try. My husband now prefers coconut oil too!
You can find the Gold Label Virgin Coconut at Tropical Traditions at: www.tropicaltraditions.com or on Facebook and Twitter too!
