I went to my first Monster Jam event this past weekend. I will be posting very soon about it soon so stay tuned! This is a picture is using the Instagram phone app!

Last Sunday my husband and I took our kids along with the neighbor’s daughter to the Monster Jam in Sacramento at the Arco Arena. Now this is an event that I have always wanted to go to whenever I see it in town. We watch these trucks on TV and my son has a bunch of the Monster Jam Hot Wheel trucks, I just never had seen it in person. I would say that the Monster Jam was FUN and definitely LOUD.
Out of all the Monster Jam trucks, I LOVE the Grave Digger the best. Out of everyone, I think my son Christopher probably had the most fun. He is a boy and loves these trucks. You should have seen his face when he seen them out in the arena. At first he was afraid because it was loud, but once the show started they had his full attention. About a week prior to this event, we bought the Monster Jam game for Wii. We had been playing the game for the week prior to going to the Monster Jam, so when it was time for the trucks to do their freestyle tricks, it totally reminded us of playing the game.
We are definitely going again the next time they are in town!

I was reading a blog post earlier today from The Frugal Free Gal about an experiment she did to see how many giveaways she could win. I actually had thought about doing this before and now I think I am putting myself up for a challenge. Now she won about 19 giveaways of the 60 that she entered. I hope that I can get lucky and win that many times too!
For the last couple years, I have entered giveaways to win stuff that I could use for gifts and I have won a fair amount of prizes. Yes, I am frugal and winning prizes to give for gifts is something that is fun for me. It also saves from dipping into our checking account. If you have never entered blog giveaways, you are MISSING OUT. You have way better odds of winning a blog giveaway from a blog like this one than entering a sweepstakes with thousands of other entries.
So here is my challenge! I am going to enter at least 5 to 10 giveaways each day for the next month. If you do the numbers 5 x 30 = 150. I am going to post the giveaways that I enter each day so that you can enter too, or just follow along.
Are you ready? Here are my giveaways that I have entered today (I may update this):
Wish me luck! I might update this list if I enter more giveaways today…..

Growing up, I remember that Charlie Brown was one of my favorite cartoons. This would be especially true during the holidays when I would get so excited to watch the holiday episode with the famous Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. As a mom, I keep this tradition going and have my children watch Charlie Brown too! This past holiday, I was able to record it on my DVR and watch it a couple times!
Tonight my family watched A Charlie Brown Valentine together. I cannot count how many times I laughed (and my husband) while watching this. Charlie Brown is definitely one of those cartoons that you never outgrow watching.
Love is in the air as Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang make plans to celebrate the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday. It’s the most romantic time of the year and everyone has big hopes of having their dreams of love and friendship fulfilled. Charlie Brown once again finds himself wishing he had the courage to ask the Little Red-Haired Girl to the dance. While he pines away for her, Peppermint Patty and Marcie do their best to woo him.
This is a cute DVD special to watch with the kids. In A Charlie Brown Valentine, the characters are writing Valentines and trying to figure out who to give them to. Then there is Charlie Brown who sees this girl on TV that he really wants to meet. He goes through all these different ways to find her to meet her and ends up getting a broken heart. Watching it made me think back to my childhood years and having those first crushes. It definitely is something we will watch over and over again.
Valentine’s Day is only a month away!
A Charlie Brown Valentine just became available for the first time on DVD on December 28, 2010 and is on SALE right now for $9.99 at Amazon.

I took Hannah to the doctor last week for a routine visit. I asked them to check her eyes because the school had sent home a note asking me to have me make an appointment with my doctor to check her vision. Before we got to appointment, I had a feeling they were going to say that Hannah needed glasses. Well the nurse does one of those tests where they have you read letters. When Hannah they covered Hannah’s left eye, she had problems reading the letters. Inside I panicked a little. You never want anything to be wrong with your children, especially your vision.
So the nurse makes an appointment with the optical services department. I take Hannah two days later to have her eyes fully checked out. Just as I thought, she needs glasses. I guess she really needs them because the doctor says she has to wear them full time. Hannah is excited about it and I am hoping that these glasses is going to help her improve at school. I am glad that glasses today are not as nerdy as they were thought of when I was a child. They also have name brand frames available by brands like Juicy Couture, Lucky Brand, Disney, Converse and more! Hannah definitely had FUN trying all the different glasses on.
I will be posting a picture of Hannah in her new glasses when she gets them!

Last year I discovered coconut oil after reading a recommendation in a book that I was reading. Ever since I first cooked with coconut oil, there wasn’t going back. I had cooked with vegetable oil for years because it was what I always seen my mom and grandma use. To be honest, I didn’t ever think about the difference between all of the oils. I just knew that vegetable oil sounded healthy and it always seemed like the cheapest to buy when grocery shopping. I do admit that I do currently have vegetable oil in my pantry, but I prefer using coconut oil for most of the meals that I cook that call for oil.
I recently have been using the Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil from Tropical Traditions. I made the switch to coconut oil not only because it tastes better, but it has some health benefits too! The Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is organic has a great taste and smell. This virgin coconut oil also contains medium chained fatty acids. These fatty acids are known to be potent and have been known for their ability to kill of harmful parasites, bacteria and even viruses which in return help’s support the body’s immune system.
My favorite use for the Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut oil is in desserts. I definitely use this oil when making cakes, brownies or other yummy treats. I have also used coconut oil to cook potatoes. Now that I use the oil, I can taste the difference. It is a taste that I now prefer over the taste of say vegetable oil or olive oil. If you have never used coconut oil, I would suggest giving it a try. My husband now prefers coconut oil too!
You can find the Gold Label Virgin Coconut at Tropical Traditions at: www.tropicaltraditions.com or on Facebook and Twitter too!

Since I have children, I always am looking for healthy snacks to stock my pantry with. Now we do buy goodies occasionally, but I prefer to send my kids to school with nutritious snacks that are not full of sugar that will give them energy they need to stay focused. One snack that I prefer sending my kids to school with is granola bars. I have always liked granola bars and my kids have took to this liking making it easy for me to buy snacks that all like.
We recently have had the opportunity to review some gourmet granola snacks from GranolaSnacks.com. When I first received my box of Granola Snacks, I did NOT wait to try them. This stuff comes in see-through packaging and all I could see was big chunks of granola that looked so good. The first one I tried was their Gourmet PB&J Granola. Now this this stuff is YUMMY. I knew I was going to like it just by reading the name though. What is cool about this granola snack is that it was tested by teenagers before hitting the market. This granola snack has an awesome peanut butter flavor and has cranberries in it, to give it that extra punch. I think I ate almost the whole bag of this flavor as I didn’t want to share when I was eating it.
We also got to try a few other varieties of their granola snacks including their Buckeye Granola, Carrot Cake Granola and their Rocky Road Granola. I would say that I liked all of these flavors with the PB&J and Buckeye being my favorites. Here is our thoughts on each of the other flavors we tried:
Buckye Granola – Now this is another delicious flavor. This one has peanut butter slathered with milk chocolate for a great taste that my kids LOVE. I think this one was their favorite.
Rocky Road Granola – If you have a sweet tooth, I definitely recommend trying this flavor. We found it to be so good, that you can only eat a little bit at a time. This snack has chocolate, almonds and marshmallows. I would say that this is one SWEET granola snack.
Carrot Cake Granola – This was a little different but good. This snack has a blend of Carrots, Flame Raisins and roasted walnuts with freshly ground Cassia Cinnamon. If you like carrot cake, you just might like this too!
Currently, you can find 8 different flavors at Granola Snacks. These YUMMY treats come in 9oz resealable bags and are very affordable. You can buy a bag of these gourmet granola snacks for only $5.95 at www.GranolaSnacks.com.
The nice folks at Granola Snacks has offered one of my LUCKY readers a variety box assorted flavors of these YUMMY granola snacks too!
